To manage the Steel Plant Production department (ie. Caster, Refractory and Furnace) in order to meet health and safety, quality, efficiency, service and cost objectives.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

1. Ensures safe work practices and procedures are followed.
3. Performs safety audits.
4. Reviews documents such as safety meetings, accident analysis, housekeeping audits and initiates preventive and corrective actions as required.
5. Informs his/her personnel of departmental performance expectations.
6. Participates/Directs implementation of Company training programs and ensures development of department’s personnel.
7. Reviews process and equipment modifications to ensure safety and efficiency.
8. Ensures implementation of Company training programs and development of department’s personnel.
9. Monitors contracts changes, grievances settlements, arbitration settlement and disciplinary action to ensure the collective agreement is respected by both parties.
10. Interviews, reviews qualifications, selects and recommends applicants.
11. Ensures compliance to Company regulations and politics. Ensures the usage of corrective measures and disciplines on violations.
13. Participates in grievance hearings.
14. Plans and communicates production schedule, sets, and defines priorities, reports and analyses production and delays, initiates preventive and corrective actions to meet objectives.
15. Ensures conformance to quality standards and initiates preventive and corrective measures.
16. Ensures ISO procedures and quality expectations are current and adhered to in the department.
17. Setting clear production goals, providing prompt feedback on performance vis-à-vis those goals, and ensuring that those goals are reached, or strategies are changed to ensure future achievement.
18. Coaches members of his/her team as required.
19. Assigning tasks and communicating production expectation to ensure department meets production targets. Setting and defining priorities, reporting delays, initiative preventive/correction actions to meet deadlines.

Specific responsibilities:
20. Observes all safety rules.
21. Ensures availability of cost effective, manpower, new materials, and consumables.
22. Reviews cost and production data and makes required corrections.
23. Attends daily meetings with Superintendent.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $125,000.00-$140,000.00 per year
