Ministry of Emergency Management & Climate Readiness (EMCR) leads provincial emergency and disaster risk management, builds and fosters collaborative relationships and partnerships, advances meaningful and lasting reconciliation, and supports all peoples in British Columbia to reduce disaster risk.

The Executive Coordinator manages division operations and support the development of the service plan, issues management, project management, and the management of communications and finances.

**Job Requirements**:
Education and Experience:

- Degree in public administration, business administration or related field and two (2) years related experience*; OR a Diploma in public administration, business administration or related field and four (4) years related experience*; OR Secondary school graduation and six (6) years of related experience*.
- Related experience must include:

- Experience developing, managing and providing direction on issues management, briefing materials, reports and correspondence; and/or managing administrative processes.
- Experience developing and maintaining a good working relationship with senior-level colleagues, technical staff and stakeholders.
- Experience dealing with highly confidential and sensitive issues.
- Experience in a senior administrative role working in an executive office.

Preference may be given to applicants with:

- Experience directing the work of other employees or contractors.
- Experience managing multiple projects/ programs or leading a component of a project or program.
- Work flexible hours and be available during emergency activations 24/7.

**About this Position**:
There is currently one (1) permanent opportunity available within EMCR's Disaster Recovery division.
There is also one (1) temporary opportunity within EMCR's Regional Operations division available until approximately December 1, 2023. This temporary opportunity may be extended or become permanent.
These positions are located in Saanichton.
