Here's how an Accounts Payable Clerk for our Ottawa office contributes to our team:
**Responsibilities**:

- Reviews and verifies invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to inputting into the accounting system.
- Processes vendor payments and performs payment cycles to meet payment terms and conditions.
- Prepares bank deposits and subsequent cash receipt entries.
- Updates purchase orders and receivers with accurate cost codes.
- Creates vendors in our accounting system and maintains overall vendor database.
- Validates supplier banking information.
- Handles internal client and vendor inquiries or correspondence.
- Other duties as required.

**Qualifications**:

- 1- 2 years of progressive experience in a similar role; experience in the construction industry is considered an asset.
- Postsecondary degree or diploma in accounting or a related discipline.
- Eligible for security clearance (Secret Level).
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and lien rights.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks with conflicting deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills and high level of detail orientation.
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment, with strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
- Intermediate skills using Microsoft Office Suite is required, and knowledge/experience with Oracle, Enterprise One software and Textura CPM software is considered an asset.
