**Financial Services Division**
This division supports the achievement of ministry outcomes, and the continued delivery of corporate services to clients and stakeholders. The Assistant Deputy Minister of Financial Services and Senior Financial Officer role is shared with Alberta Forestry Parks and Tourism.
**Facilities & Fleet Services Unit**
Staff manage core ministry services for departmental divisions including program accommodations, space change requirements and renovations, lease agreements, fleet procurement, driver safety, ministry parking requirements, and capital improvements.
Staff work daily with cross ministry staff in Alberta Infrastructure, Service Alberta Red Tape Reduction and Technology and Innovation.
**Role Responsibilities**:
Become a valuable member of our dynamic Financial Services Division within the Ministry of Agriculture & Irrigation. Our team is dedicated to achieving excellence in delivering services throughout the province. We are currently looking for a skilled and strategic leader to fill the position of Director of Facilities and Fleet Management. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for supervising project management services, asset maintenance, and strategic planning to guarantee the efficient functioning and progress of our program's facilities and fleet.
Under the current organizational structure, this position provides leadership, support and direction to program executives, program management and their teams for program operations at over 1200 facilities and sites across the province, 2000+ fleet vehicles, 1000+ drivers and divisional support services to two ministries: Agriculture and Irrigation & Forestry and Parks
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Strategic Project Management**:
- Lead diverse projects, ensuring efficient planning, design, and construction of program requirements.
- Provide strategic direction for facility asset setup, advancement, and maintenance.
**Fleet Program Oversight**:
- Lead fleet program operations, procurement, and maintenance to meet compliance standards.
**Systems Development**:
- Implement robust planning, project management, procurement, financial control, and risk management systems.
**Stakeholder Collaboration**:
- Build collaborative relationships with Alberta Infrastructure, Service Alberta, and Alberta Technology and Innovation.
**Consultative Relationship Building**:
- Cultivate consultative relationships with senior representatives for issue resolution and innovative solutions.
**Strategic Advisory**:
- Provide strategic options, program advice, and recommendations to the executive team.
**Team Development and Resource Management**:
- Develop team capacity through innovative project delivery and resource management.

**Qualifications**:
- **University degree** supplemented by **at least seven (7) years of progressively **responsible** related experience**; or equivalent as described below.
**Equivalencies **considered include:
- A related two (2) year diploma and a minimum of nine (9) years of related experience;
- A related one (1) year certificate and a minimum of ten (10) years of related experience
- or a minimum of eleven (11) years of related experience.
