**The opportunity**:
The Department of Economics at the Faculty of Arts is looking for a Graduate Program Assistant. The Graduate Program Assistant provides administrative assistance to the graduate program in Economics, administering all aspects of the MA and PhD programs. This position provides continuity within the Department’s graduate program while working under the direction of the Graduate Chair ensuring established policies and procedures are followed. The Graduate Program Assistant responds to inquiries about graduate programs, advising enrolled and prospective student on program requirements and regulations with a focus on diversity and inclusion for the larger percentage international students.

**The qualifications and experience we’re looking for**:

- Completion of a formal training program in a related discipline from a recognized institution required.
- Three years of directly related administrative experience in an office environment required.
- Experience in an academic unit is preferred.
- Knowledge of the Graduate Program administration preferred.
- Knowledge of regulations, policies, procedure, and academic programs/ courses within the University of Manitoba preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills required.
- Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationship with faculty, staff, students and the public required.
- Proven ability to working within a culturally diverse environment required.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision required.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality is essential.
- Proven ability to plan, organize and prioritize diverse tasks with attention to detail is required.
- Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
