Job Summary:
The Project Administrator will provide project management assistance and task management support to the development of renewable energy (wind and solar) projects. This work involves supporting the project team and using GIS and mapping tools (e.g. Google Earth) to help identify renewable energy sites and evaluating site issues. Sites also require contracting work for land rights, permitting work to approve the projects, and eventually construction on site. Work involves calls and engagement with different levels of government offices and permitting agencies, as well as speaking directly to landowners and local stakeholders. Direct work with clients is also needed.
**Responsibilities**:
- Identify and organize the management of wind and solar project plans by using standard MS software tools (Word, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint), therefore strong proficiency in Word, Excel, MS Project and PowerPoint is needed
- Some working knowledge and ability in GIS Tools such as Google Earth and GIS platforms (QGIS or ArcGIS) is also necessary to create and update project maps, project layers and files, and for sharing with clients
- Represent Bright Diamond Consulting in client meetings and working with Project Managers and other project stakeholders in creating and amending project agreements, land leases, as well as letters and other correspondence
- Assist the team with project open houses and generating clear and concise project information for community outreach and stakeholder engagement.
- Conduct research on specific energy markets, permitting regulations such as government siting regulations or local municipal bylaws
- Attend in person and virtual regulatory meetings and conferences for wind and solar projects at the local, state/provincial, and federal level
- Assist with efforts to apply, investigate and secure transmission and interconnection rights from utilities and transmission providers
- Participate in the preparation of proposals that are submitted to energy purchasers or government entities
- Support internal reporting, communications, planning and project tracking
**Skills**:
- High School Diploma with some collegiate training (CEGEP or Community College) pertaining to organizational skills, administrative work, or formal report writing or presenting
- Preferred: University degree in Business, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, law or legal fields
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software with strong Excel skills
- 1 to 2 years of progressive responsibility with project management and/or high organizational roles
- Experience with ArcGIS, QGIS, or Google Earth would be considered an asset
- Strong language skills in English are a necessity; strong French skills would be considered an asset
