**The role**:
As part of the Operations leadership team, this position in partnership with the Manager of Operations is accountable for the day-to-day delivery of processing and support services to the Meridian Credit Union and motusbank. The role will manage the daily workflow of the Operations team and manage the performance of employees to meet our Service Level Agreements and Service Commitments.

Modeling Meridian corporate values, the Assistant Manager, Operations will assume responsibility for providing a reliable and central point of contact to enable internal Delivery and Corporate partners. The incumbent will provide leadership, direction, and development to employees by empowering performance and giving constructive one on one coaching. Process improvement and high level of service to retail partners while retaining a team of highly engaged employees who continually strive to enhance our Member’s experience will be a focus.

The incumbent will be responsible for developing a team that is responsive, collaborative, resourceful and influential in achieving Service Commitments while delivering quality and operational efficiency within the Operations Team. Current and ongoing knowledge of best practices, industry trends, and the impact of regulatory changes affecting the team is provided through this role.

- Effectively engaging resources and managing day-to-day workload across the team to achieve Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) and service commitments. Gather and maintain key metrics to manage business efficiency and performance.
- Effectively engaging employees in their day-to-day processes using training and tools to ensure increased efficiencies, fewer errors, decreased turnaround time, effective and timely resolutions, and removal of bottlenecks and pain points. Maintain a collaborative, motivated and positive team environment. Setting goals and objectives and ensuring succession planning for team members is in place. Ensuring individual performance and productivity of team contributes to Operations Centre of Excellence, leveraging employee’s skills and capabilities that supports the continued growth of the department.
- As a Member of the Operations leadership team, contributing to Meridian’s success by supporting the goals and objectives of the department. Collaborate with cross-functional areas across Operations management team to identify and improve processes, tools and approaches as required, through sharing of ideas, opinions and feedback.
- Participate in recruiting and hiring new employees. Develop proper training plans for new and existing employees.
- Review team processes and implement workflow improvements where possible. Support and execute the Service and Performance standards to increase productivity and deliver service excellence to our Members.

**We’d Love to Work with You If You Have the following skills and abilities**:

- Minimum 1-2 years of management experience
- Minimum 3 - 5 years of related Financial Services work experience.
- Strong commitment to service excellence and the achievement of results.
- Sound organizational, influencing and presentation skills.
- Solid knowledge of Meridian products, procedures, and business practices.
- Demonstrates innovative and creative approaches to solving difficult challenges and seizing process improvement opportunities.
- Confident, self-motivated, and proactive in assessing requirements.
- Confident in providing advice and direction including but not limited to branch processes, investment and lending products, technical writing and system authorities
- Demonstrates a high degree of adaptability, ability to organize effectively and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong interpersonal skills - ability, tact and diplomacy to work effectively and build collaborative relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- May be required to travel on occasion.
