Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, Canada, the position is responsible for performing a range of HR initiatives and programs supporting departmental managers for our Richmond and Calgary locations. The duties consist of recruiting, policies, training, employee relations, safety, benefits and other HR programs.

**Job Duties**:

- Responsible for full cycle recruitment, orientation/onboarding.
- HRIS (Human Resources Information System) and Time and Attendance administration duties.
- Labour relations and collective agreement administration for our Richmond location.
- Health & Safety - administer, track and communicate modified duties/RTW program.
- Monitor attendance and absenteeism.
- Maintain a sustainable relationship with union officials and oversee the adherence to wages, working hours and other regulations.
- Ensure the completion of compensation and benefits documentation; enrollments, changes and terminations.
- Provide general information and assistance internally and externally over the phone, electronically and in person.
- Plan and organize staff events and recreational activities.
- Keep job descriptions current.
- Help to ensure organization wide compliance with policies, procedures and applicable regulations.
- Communicate to internal stakeholders in Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and regulations.
- General human resources administrative tasks.
- Locate filed materials upon request, ensuring that materials are given only to authorized parties.
- Conduct exit interviews
- Complete other duties and projects as assigned.

**Skills and Abilities Required**:

- Minimum two (2) years’ experience in Human Resources.
- Experience in a unionized environment a must.
- Previous HRIS experience desirable, preferably ADP Workforce Now.
- Maintain an approachable and appropriate attitude when interacting with all levels of personnel in a rapidly changing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to provide beneficial recommendations to solve HR related issues.
- Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
- Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
- Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.
- Presentation skills required.
- Must be dependable, able to follow instructions and respond to management direction.
- Computer literacy in MS Office (Outlook, Excel & PowerPoint).
- Good analytical and problem solving skills.
- Able to interpret and implement company policies and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
