Your Opportunity:
The Learner Scheduler is a key administrative role in the department of Family Medicine and is responsible for the successful coordination, scheduling and support of the community learning opportunities for pre-clerkship students, Clinical Clerks, Residents/Fellows. With over 150 Calgary Program Family Medicine residents and over 1000 clinical experiences, appropriate and effective scheduling of learning opportunities by the Learner Scheduler is key to successful programming for Family Medicine Residents and undergraduate medical students. The position is complex, guided by multiple intricate guidelines of both Family Medicine Residency Program and the Undergraduate Medical Education. The incumbent must balance significant competing demands, frequently shifting priorities, and work to extremely important deadlines. The incumbent must exercise excellent judgement and superior resourcefulness in performance of daily activities. By being experts in the key responsibility areas: coordinating learner placements, establishing, and maintaining relationships, recruiting new preceptors, adhering to policies and standards, providing problem resolution support and data management analysis. The Learner Scheduler plays a key role in the development of successful working relations with over 1000 community-based family physician teachers and hundreds of specialty colleagues. He/she is the ‘face’ of Family Medicine to these key partners and to hundreds of learners across undergrad and postgraduate training programs.

**Required Qualifications**:
Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. diploma in business or office administration, specialized external certification).
**Additional Required Qualifications**:
Minimum Diploma in Business or Office Administration, or equivalent. Experience with clinical, physician, or learner scheduling an asset. Experience negotiating with multiple stakeholders an asset. Superior critical thinking and decision-making skills. Skills in database administration and operating web-based/online platforms is important. Ability to handle complex and confidential information with discretion. Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision with an aptitude for problem solving.
