The Zamboni Company has maintained a Canadian operation since 1967. You may recognize the city of Brantford, Ontario, as the home of “The Great One,” Wayne Gretzky. For many years it has also been the Canadian home of the Zamboni ice resurfacer. The Canadian facility houses 48,000 square feet of Zamboni machine manufacturing and the plant is busy year-round.

**Position Summary**

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing and optimizing Purchase Orders, coordinating transportation along with researching, identifying, and managing suppliers, ensuring the quality and consistency of the sourced products and services, and optimizing the company's supply chain for cost-efficiency and reliability.

**Responsibilities**:

- Creating, scheduling, and managing purchase orders from vendor to customer with an emphasis on a new product launch in addition to current product designs.
- Collaborate with the Supply Chain team to ensure a smooth and efficient flow of goods and materials, minimizing disruptions and delays.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize the company's supply chain, reduce procurement costs, and increase profitability.
- Evaluate supplier performance regularly, establish key performance indicators (KPIs), and work with underperforming suppliers to improve their performance.
- Stay informed about market trends, industry developments, and emerging suppliers to identify potential opportunities or threats.
- Work closely with the Logistics and Supply Chain teams to improve the efficiency of transportation, inventory management, and distribution.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as Sales, Production, Engineering, Quality Control, and ensure the successful implementation of new materials.

**Knowledge and Experience**:

- Post secondary education in Purchasing/Supply Chain Management, or related study.
- 3-5 years of experience in global procurement, supply chain, including experience in managing North American as well as international suppliers.
- Understanding of ERP systems, knowledge of Epicor or SAP planning system would be an asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong computer skills using Office, Excel, Word, Outlook.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking.
- Certification in supply chain management or procurement would be considered an asset (e.g., CSCP, APICS, CPIM cert).

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
