**About the role**

In this role you will be responsible for employee and labour relations. You will be required to have a strong degree of autonomy and independent decision making, with a supportive team of peers and experts to draw upon in the region and at a national level. You will partner with regional business managers to help them succeed; and advise/consult.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Employee/Labour relations including interpretation of Non-Union Terms & Conditions of Employment and Collective Agreement interpretation for multiple unions
- Assess Leadership capability and coach to close gaps
- Performance management
- Team effectiveness
- Employee engagement
- Culture change - Helping teams change their mindset and behaviors
- Collective bargaining
- Disability management
- Participating in the development and delivery of Human Resources operational and strategic goals

**Education, Training and Experience**:

- Completion of a university degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Behavioral Sciences or a related field
- A minimum of five years of related experience in an operational and strategic Human Resources role within a unionized environment
- Certified Human Resources Leader (CPHR) designation is an asset
- Ideally experience in a manufacturing, supply chain and continuous improvement culture
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered

**Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:

- Demonstrated expertise in labour relations
- Thorough understanding of HR best practices, talent management concepts and strategic programs as well as related legislative requirements
- Demonstrated consulting skills with strong planning and execution capabilities
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English are essential
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers at all levels
- Effective interpersonal skills along with proven ability to exercise sound judgment, tact and discretion
- Ability to coach employees and managers through difficult situations and facilitate conflict resolution
- Strong business acumen
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Travel may be required
