The Human Resources Business Partner at Dunn-Rite Food Products is responsible for staff and personnel matters at this facility including, but not limited to recruitment and selection, conditions of employment, staff training, absenteeism control programs, and other administrative tasks. He/she also provides counsel and support on Human Resource matters such as performance management, discipline/discharge, harassment, employee/labour relations, contract administration and policies and procedures.

**Responsibilities**:

- Recruitment of new employees, working with Corporate Talent Acquisition Team
- Assist in the delivery of orientation training.
- Facilitate training and development programs for the organization.
- Monitor and maintain attendance program, prepare letters etc.
- Development and maintenance of employee job descriptions and standards ensuring they are kept up-to-date, accurate and compliant with relevant laws/regulations for all positions.
- Interact with external organizations impacting employee welfare i.e. Union, Labor Board, etc.
- Work with union representative to resolve labor relation issues.
- Assists with the carrying out of a company-wide process of organization development that addresses issues such as succession planning, superior workforce development, key employee retention, organization design, and change management.
- Assists with the company-wide committees including the wellness, training, environmental health and safety, activity, and culture and communications committees.
- Works closely with Plant Manager, Supervisory team and Corporate HR,
- Analyzes staffing logistics and organizes documentation
- Ensures consistency of HR policies and procedures
- Support OH& S coordinator
- Other duties as required

**Knowledge and Skills**:

- Knowledge of applicable employment law and Human Rights in Canada, H&S legislation
- Experience in a unionized environment
- Knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety and HACCP regulations.
- Ability to analyze data and situations and provide recommendations.
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills, strong knowledge of people management, coaching and leadership skills.
- High level of attention to detail, well developed influencing, negotiating and consulting skills.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Strong presentation skills, strong analytical skills, ability to perform tasks with mínimal supervision, ability to work with all levels of management and an ability to analyze and decipher related data.
- Be able to motivate staff through positive employee relations.

**Experience and Education**:

- Post secondary education in Human Resources Management, minimum two years broad knowledge and experience across several HR disciplines.
- Must be able to deal effectively with people from all departments and levels of the organization. Understanding of Employment Standards/labour law
- Previous experience in unionized work environment preferred.
- Previous experience with O H & S and claims management preferred.
- High sense of urgency, well organized and able to prioritize effectively.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, time management and multi-tasking skills.
- Highly proficient computer skills, e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, when required.
- Previous experience with Ceridian/Dayforce an asset.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
