**The opportunity**:
Reporting to the Vice-President - Human Resources, the HR Business Partner is responsible for a range of duties enabling the HR department to deliver best practices and focused HR solutions that support the business in conjunction with specialist HR functions across Canada and the US. Duties include functions such as, but not limited to: recruitment, company policies, employee relations, regulatory compliance and other HR programs. The HR Business Partner is expected to maximize the effectiveness of Artis REIT staff, and ensure that their activities are well planned, coordinated and directed. Specific duties include:

- Lead and coordinate the entire recruitment process while closely working with department managers and helping identify top talent;
- Effectively administer and coordinate semi-annual employee evaluations to contribute to positive employee performance;
- Proactively provide assistance to employees with employee relation matters;
- Accurately provide monthly reports on recruitment initiatives, legislative review, and other employment statistics;
- Research, draft, and provide recommendations regarding policies, staffing needs, and company HR initiatives; and
- Create and deliver detailed employee documentation.

**Your technical requirements**:

- 2+ years’ HR generalist experience;
- 3+ years' recruitment experience;
- University or College Diploma, preferably in business specializing in Human Resources, or equivalent, required;
- CHRP designation, an asset;
- Intermediate experience in Microsoft Office;
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; and
- United States experience, strongly considered an asset.
