Meals on Wheels (Ottawa) is a charitable organization in its 55th year of existence as a Community Support Service. We are a Ministry of Health of Ontario funded organization. We also receive funding from the City of Ottawa.

Our mission is to provide sound, affordable nutrition to seniors and adults with a disability to help them remain living safely in their own homes. We deliver hot and frozen meals Monday to Saturday.

Our staff are mostly back at the office now but there is still a possibility of working remotely at least one day per week. The office is busy with client and volunteer calls coming in mostly in the morning and through the lunch hour. At present, everyone takes calls as they come in. We're a small and mighty team of 8 staff and over 300 volunteers. We never shut down during the pandemic so that illustrates our fighting spirit.

The Coordinator of Volunteer works in a team setting assisting with recruitment, screening, orientation, training, scheduling, supervision and recognition of volunteers. The position is also responsible for routing meal deliveries. The latter is the most important day to day tasks. We require a very organized person with superb people skills.

Since we are designated a bilingual service provider by the province, it is critical that our staff speak both French and English. A driver's license and access to a car are definite asset.

This is a sick leave replacement. Timing is until August 31, 2023.

**Salary**: From $26.16 per hour
