St. Mary’s Home (SMH) is a not-for-profit charitable organization providing specialized community support services to marginalized pregnant and parenting youth, and their infants and children (0 to 6). **Position Summary**:
The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of volunteer management (recruitment, screening, orientation, training, recognition, and evaluation) and leads initiatives to recruit and support volunteers while raising the agency profile. The Volunteer Coordinator engages volunteers in meaningful opportunities that assist in the delivery of agency programs, services, and operations. This role is also responsible for providing guidance, support, and resources for volunteers and staff who supervising volunteers.

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop and implement a strategy for engaging new volunteers and supporting and retaining existing volunteers.
- Manage all aspects of volunteer engagement, including recruitment, screening, onboarding, training, and appreciation.
- Complete all required forms, documentation, recruitment, and onboarding procedures according to established protocols and policies and accreditation standards.
- Review/update volunteer manual, job descriptions, policies and schedules as needed.
- Support fundraising initiatives, providing ongoing support to volunteers involved in activities.
- Collaborate with SMH Team, Managers, and Board of Directors through committees.
- Participate in all relevant agency and community meetings and training opportunities.
- Establish and maintain an active social media presence, ensuring content and messaging is relevant to volunteer engagement and outreach for the agency.
- Create engaging and relevant social media content, including text, images, videos, and graphics, ensuring content aligns with the SMH mission and values.
- Develop and distribute promotional and communication materials/tools for volunteers.
- Communicate with members of SMH team to ensure needs for, and of, volunteers are met.
- Act as a liaison and support between volunteers and staff members and/or onsite community partners who volunteers are working with.
- Maintain accurate records/volunteer database, including volunteer information, activities, hours worked, training needs, required documentation - such as Vulnerable Sector Police Record Checks and confidentiality agreements, along with emergency contact information.
- Oversee in-kind donation program and donation management systems; optimizing systems for processing, recruiting of inventory and distribution.
- Manage all aspects of the weekly food hamper distribution program, including volunteer schedules, tasks, and logístical coordination.
- Coordinate, support, and oversee volunteers working on special events/activities.
- Oversee individual volunteer performance reviews and reviews of the volunteer program.
- Monitor volunteer satisfaction and provide regular check-ins and support for volunteers, ensuring their expectations as a volunteer are being met.
- Lead in the organizing of Volunteer Appreciation and Recognition Events and develop and implement a formal and informal volunteer appreciation Program.
- Other duties as required

**Qualifications**:

- Graduate of Volunteer Management diploma / degree Program or additional work-related experience.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in volunteer coordination, outreach, and/or community engagement.

**Required Knowledge and Skills**:

- Knowledge and experience with volunteer recruitment, screening, and onboarding processes.
- Ability to develop and distribute promotional materials for volunteer engagement.
- Knowledge of social media platforms and experience in managing social media accounts, posts, and website content for organizations.
- Familiarity with in-kind donation programs and donation management systems.
- Strong supervisory skills to provide regular support for volunteers
- Understanding of community needs assessment processes and strategies.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
