The Communications and Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for the overall effectiveness of communications and volunteer initiatives.

The Communications and Volunteer Coordinator plays a key role in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of all communications and volunteer coordination activities through identification of internal and external stakeholder’s needs, while working in the framework of community engagement.

The incumbent will support the Senior Leadership Team's development and maintenance of a Communications strategy and leads implementation of the plan. They will promote community awareness and the visibility of the Centre, including its programs and services, and its areas of advocacy.

**Communications and Written Activities**:

- Assists the Executive Director and the Senior Leadership Team in public relations matters and inquires, such as arranging interviews, providing support with key messages.
- Participates in the development of the communications plan to improve the centre’s visibility in the community.
- Maintains the Carlington web site and social media platforms with relevant information and its programs and services (in English and French).
- Provides written support such as writing, proofreading and editing for a variety of media content, including the annual report, newsletters, direct mail campaigns, funding proposals, news releases and other writing projects as required.
- Creates and implements documents including program guides, templates for posters and presentations for distribution.

**Volunteer Coordination Activities**:

- Works closely with teams to establish and maintain volunteer services as appropriate.
- Supports the development, implementation and maintenance of Volunteer services, systems and policies.
- Supports and completes the full cycle recruitment process. Works closely with teams to find appropriate volunteers for specific program needs.

**Resource Development **_(once per year_**)**:

- Build and maintain relationships with community associations in the catchment area to advance goals of the organization.
- Distributes and administers standardized letters to donors, using the donor mailing list, maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of donor information.
