**Summary**:
The Manager, Shopper Marketing, is accountable for building and managing an exceptional customer experience that navigates the shopper through the path-to-purchase. The role is critical as main contact to Metro's store network and directly support the weekly needs of our operations. The Manager, Shopper Marketing, reporting to the Senior Manager, Shopper Marketing, will, in collaboration with the Shopper Marketing Team, develop and execute insight-based, category specific marketing programs that influence shopper behavior, drive traffic, support the alignment of team and cross functional priorities, build visibility for priority products and categories, and stimulate sales growth at store level and across promotional communication assets. The role supports our senior leadership cross key strategic initiatives and projects, and will directly report to executive sponsors when assigned to such initiatives.
**Specific Responsibilities**:
- Responsible for the strategic development of our in-store experience (includes static and digital POS, and in-store radio) from ideation to execution with a evolutionary signage plan across key departments, and with clear links to relevant consumer and industry insights.
- Lead Marketing team and internal stakeholders through the development and execution of shopper and category marketing plans with clear links to relevant shopper insights
- Oversee the development of all in-store communication touch points, including category and promotional signage, POS, in-store media, etc.; collaborate with Operations & Design/Construction on Décor development
- Work closely with the Merchandising Team to build category marketing plans to support new food launches and innovation; includes private label support
- Ontario Project Lead for _My Health My Choices_ health and wellness program - including coordination with Senior Management stakeholders, development of strategic plan, budget and agency management, execution across all paid and owned marketing channels, and program measurement including reporting finding and opportunities for future program development.
- Marketing support for the Pharmacy team - Development and execution of agreed strategies/tactics across Metro Ontario and Food Basics Pharmacies.
- Marketing representative with key strategic partners (eg. Starbucks, Skip the Dishes, Nature’s Signature). Support activation plans and actively participate in top-to-top meetings with Metro Ontario senior executive team.
- Support new and renovated store grand opening initiatives, such as setting up stores with needed signage and promotional materials.
- Lead the annual budget planning process and ensure fiscal period consolidations remain on target throughout the fiscal year for all assigned budget lines; ensure financial auditing processes are adhered to by self and team.
- Regularly liaise with senior level stakeholders to ensure timely feedback is gathered from all stakeholders and approvals are issued.
- Manage long term relationships with revenue partners, agency partners, designers, copy writers, translators and printers to maintain efficiencies and cost effectiveness.
- Continually bring forth and champion new and unique opportunities for improvement in processes and direction.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor Degree; MBA an asset
- 7-10 years marketing experience ; relevant retail experience an asset.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build clearly articulated and influential sales and marketing presentations.
- Ability to interact with and influence key stakeholders across all levels of management.
- Excellent project management skills and negotiation skills.
**Relationships**:
This role is instrumental in ensuring ongoing alignment between Marketing, Merchandising, Operations, Store teams and the Customer.
