**Reports to**:Director of Finance
**Position Status**: 6 Month Term - Flexible PT/ FT (25-40 hours per week)
**Salary**: $39,000 - $42,000
**Start Date**: Immediate
**Office Location**: 399 Charlotte Street, Sydney, NS
We are seeking a confident, driven and passionate professional to join our Finance and HR Teams to take on the role of Payroll Administrator for a term position of up to 6 months. We are open to flexibility of hours to a minimum of 25 per week and max 40 hours. Payroll days (Friday, Monday and Tuesdays) are mandatory. The YMCA of Cape Breton encourages a strong work life balance including paid time off.
**Position Summary**: Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Payroll Administrator, will be responsible for the timely processing of payroll on bi-weekly basis by collecting and inputting time sheets.
**Responsibilities**:
- **Payroll Management**_:
- Process payroll on bi-weekly basis by collecting and recording timesheets into Accpac
- Responsible for the administration of all pension and benefit programs offered to YMCA of Cape Breton employees
- Timely set up of new hires in HR Record management system.
- Record and file any Records of Employment on a timely basis.
- Ensure the accurate completion and record keeping of payroll files.
- Any additional duties with regards to payroll management as set by the Director of Finance.
- **Human Resources Support**:_
- Support Director of People and Culture with collecting and recording child safeguarding reporting requirements.
- Communicate with managers on onboarding process.
- Support Director of People and Culture on hiring, interviews and other related HR projects.
- Other duties assigned by Director of Finance.
**Qualifications and Skills Required**:
- Diploma or degree in Office Administration, Human Resources, Payroll Administration or related program, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2+ years of administrative experience with demonstratable evidence of experience linked to the role’s responsibilities.
- High level of verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and efficiency
- Superior interpersonal skills and ability to establish rapport.
- Sensitivity to confidential matters is required.
- Experience with general office programs and software system
- Ability to maintain proactive communication with managers regarding payroll submissions.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, competing deadlines and priorities.
- Advanced Microsoft Office Suite, spreadsheets, database maintenance
