**SCOPE**:
The **Program Development and Community Engagement Team Lead** will lead, coach, and support a group of employees while ensuring ONWA’s vision, mandate, objectives, and community member deliverables are met and aligned with ONWA’s Strategic Plan. They will lead special project developments and support community engagements as part of ONWA’s Community Development Portfolio. The Program Development and Community Engagement Team Lead will advocate, create, implement, and train on programs and engagements specific to community development initiatives and work to ensure best practices are implemented. In addition, the lead will ensure engagement functions and resources are effectively integrated, organized and leveraged to meet strategic and operational needs. They are responsible for developing and enhancing key community relationships and improving engagements with ONWA services and membership, Indigenous Communities, internal and external stakeholders.

The **Program Development and Community Engagement Team Lead** will develop, implement, and coordinate special project developments and support community engagements as well as providing supports to the overall Community Development portfolio’s overall events, programming, and functions. Reporting to the Community Development Manager, the Program Development and Community Engagement Team Lead will integrate and share knowledge from ONWA’s key services and membership, Indigenous Communities, internal and external stakeholders.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Post-secondary diploma/degree in Social Sciences, Indigenous Studies, Women’s Studies, with a minimum three (3) to five (5) years’ work experience in program development and community engagement role.
- Minimum 3 (three) years previous work experience in a team lead/supervisor role and demonstrated experience supporting and advocating for Indigenous women and families.
- Demonstrated experience with resource development and implementation.
- Knowledge and experience in research and engagement processes and protocols.
- Strong project management, communication, and time management skills with the ability to proactively plan and work independently with strict deadlines and deliverables.
- Ability to develop programming, processes, and procedures.
- Knowledge and experience with Indigenous culture, traditions, ceremony and connecting Community Members to cultural practices that can be used in supporting Community Members.
- Knowledge and understanding of current issues facing Indigenous Women and their families.
- A demonstrated high level of written, oral, and interpersonal skills and can influence and negotiate with partners and stakeholders to find collaborative solutions for complex issues.
- Ability to think critically and able to manage stressful situations.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to form professional and collaborative working relationships and function as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
- Sets and maintains high performance standards while practicing independently to achieve results, with an ability to follow through on assigned duties while maintaining strict deadlines.
- Able to engage in reflective practice and in constructive dialogue about professional development.
- Experience with financial planning; to plan and manage programs/projects and support planning processes and reporting, including results based planning and annual plans.
- Ability to work cross-culturally, and especially across the range of Indigenous communities, internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills including written, oral and facilitation skills to participate in engagement, draft meeting summaries, reports, and briefing materials, and actively participate in task teams, and working groups.
