About the Role

Valard Construction LP is seeking a highly skilled Indigenous Relations Advisor to support the operations of the Waasigan project. This role will involve developing and maintaining strong relationships with Indigenous communities, organizations, and businesses throughout Thunder Bay and area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Initiate, develop, and maintain working relationships with Indigenous communities and their economic development organizations;
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with key project stakeholder organizations for the Waasigan project;
  • Contribute to the development of Indigenous engagement plans and assist with the delivery of engagement activities;

The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in Indigenous relations or community engagement, with a strong understanding of Indigenous cultures and communities from a historical and current perspective. They will also possess excellent critical analysis and research skills, as well as exceptional presentation and communication skills.

Requirements
  • Applicable experience in Indigenous relations or community engagement;
  • Completion of an undergraduate degree in business administration or a related discipline (not essential);
