**Job Summary**:
Join our small, highly productive team in a fast-paced microbiological testing environment, serving the food production industry in Metro Vancouver Primarily the position is sample receiving, sample log-in, and entering customer/sample data in preparation for reporting. A strong attention to detail is perhaps the most crucial asset an applicant should possess for this position.

**Duties**:

- Receive samples from customers and couriers/drivers
- Assess, sort, and log in samples on arrival
- Communicate testing instructions for each sample to the laboratory technician
- Entering customer and sample information for certificates and other documents
- Maintaining general cleanliness of the office area
- Complying with ISO/IEC 17025:2017, the quality management system policies and procedures as outlined in the QA Manual, and supporting documentation
- Other miscellaneous duties as required
- Reports to the Managing Director

**Education**:

- High school diploma.
- Post-secondary diploma/degree preferred.

**Experience**:

- Two years minimum in either an administrative position, or in the field of customer service.

**Skills**:

- Proficient computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office, Windows, Apple OS.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Acute attention to detail and the ability to follow specific instructions.
- Fluent English in both verbal and written capacities.
- Ability to work well with others & independently.
- Proven time management skills.
- Respectful, courteous and organized when greeting customers/visitors in person.
- This job does not initially require any fielding of customer phone calls, however the applicant may be requested to take part in this responsibility if competence in the roll and understanding of the lab’s functions are demonstrated.

**Technical Knowledge**:

- Highly competent in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Familiarity of microbiological testing methods commonly performed in Canada an asset.
