**Position Mandate**:The Workplace Resource Manager provides operational leadership and program services to community based clients directly and through personal support staff. Services provided include supervision of staff, scheduling of staff and coordination of client care. Direct accountability to the Executive Director to ensure staff provide excellent services and comply with relevant legislation including but not limited to health and safety, Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care regulations and Ontario Health regulations, etc. Participate in providing On-Call Services as required.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Responsibility A - Staff Supervision & Client Care 75% of Time**
- Accountable for ongoing operation of community outreach program including day to day scheduling of staff and assessment of client needs
- Conduct home visits and assess new clients as required.
- In consultation with Executive Director, define and implement client management plans
- Recruitment of staff, retention, training and orientation of new personal support staff and student placements. Ensuring the maintenance of staffing levels required to provide excellent services to clients
- Supervision of the work of frontline staff including managing performance and annual performance reviews
- Manage caseload in the community according to client needs within scope of services provided by Peel Cheshire Homes
- Guide and direct staff to carry out duties including but not limited to personal care, escorting, activities of daily living, medication management, supportive assistance to enable clients access their community as they wish in a safe and secure manner
- Evaluate program delivery to clients (consumers), conduct annual survey with consumers to measure program effectiveness, and conduct annual staff performance reviews
- Find resources within the community that will help clients as required
- Provide lead to facilitate staff and clients meetings, represent interest of clients and PSWs on various committees including health and safety committee
- Provide support to the Residential Manager and cover residential program as required during absences of the program manager

**Responsibility B - Health & Safety, Legal Obligations & Communication - 20% of Time**
- Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment and safe systems of work in accordance with PCH Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures
- Review and update knowledge on all relevant legislation impacting the care of clients and dissemination of knowledge to PSWs as required
- Monitor and provide regular updates to the Executive Director on services provided and of any liabilities or risk whether imminent or potential risk and report incidents in a timely manner
- Ensuring that PCH is in compliance with legislation, recommending new or changes to policies and providing new training as required
- Regularly communicate all changes in agency policies and protocol to front line staff and outreach consumers

**Responsibility C - Finance / Accounting and Other - 5 % of Time**
- Allocate work to staff and resources within allocated annual budget on approval by Executive Director
- Approve time sheets and verify payroll payments made to staff
- Responsible for adhering to PCH duty of confidentiality for all residents, consumers and staff
- Comply with all PCH policies and procedures
- Other related duties as assigned

**Required Qualifications**:

- A post-secondary qualification, including a PSW certification from a recognized educational institution
- 3 to 5 years of experience managing in a culturally diverse health care environment
- Strong operational management, team leadership, and relationship-building and management skills
- Commitment to providing the highest level of customer service and client care
- Superior oral and written communication skills
- Requires good judgement, problem solving and assessment abilities
- Demonstrated organization and time management, facilitation, negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Valid Driver’s License and clean Driver’s Abstract
- Access to a reliable vehicle and willingness to travel as required in support of clients
- Current CPR and First Aid certification is a requirement
- Clean criminal record and vulnerable sector checks periodically
- Ability to speak a second language a definite asset
- Experience working in the community is a definite asset
