Director of Community Programs

Hours of Work: 37.5 - working Monday to Friday
Under the supervision of the Senior Director of Community Programs, the Director of Community Programs is responsible for supporting, leading and guiding the direction of the Community Programs Department. The Director will promote and coach a healthy work place culture which will enhance team collaboration, community impact and department growth.
**Responsibilities**:
Program Development
- In collaboration with the Sr. Director of Community Programs, lead the Community Programs department in incorporating best practice in the field of community development, ensuring that all programs are informed by research, adequately resourced, and align with YWCA Regina Strategic Plan.
- Responsible for innovative programming, implementation and oversite.
- Support Community Programs staff in ensuring programming is accessible, trauma informed, and client centred
- Working with the Sr. Director of Community Programs, ensure accurate evaluation of programs through development of evaluation tools and targets that support the YWCA Regina Strategic Plan and vision
- Foster continuous growth and improvement by responding to emerging needs, leveraging existing strengths, and incorporating best practice
- Maintain and develop new community partnerships through relationship development, effective partnerships, and establishing a community presence in order to promote the YWCA Regina programs
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with various internal and external stakeholders, community organisations, various levels of government and more.
Human Resources
- Foster a cohesive and effective staff team by establishing a culture of teamwork and continuous learning, grounded in the values of intersectional feminism, trauma-informed care, and client-centred support
- In collaboration with the Sr. Director of Community Programs, oversee all human resources requirements including staffing, training, payroll requirements, coaching, and completing regular performance reviews and accountability agreements
- Supporting, coaching, and providing professional development to Community Programs staff
- Seek out and provide relevant staff development opportunities to department
- Establish professional working relationships with other YWCA departments
Administration and Financial:
- Preparation for annual budgets, monitor budget tracking, funding short falls and opportunities
- Assist Senior Director of Community Programs in grant writing, funding agreements and exploring new funding opportunities
- Complete annual funding requirements and reporting
- Maintain up to date grant and report deadline calendar
- Attend quarterly YWCA leadership meetings
- Facilitate Community Programs departmental meetings
- General administrative duties, file management, organization and delegation of duties and projects
- Ensure departmental files are stored accurately and per legislative and internal requirements.
**Qualifications**:
- A degree in administration, social sciences, social work or combination of education and management/work experience is an asset
- A strong knowledge and understanding of the TRC Report and Calls to Action and the MMIWG2S+ Inquiry and Calls to Justice
- Proven administration, leadership and supervisory skills
- Experience working with Indigenous communities
- Experience working with Newcomer populations
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organisational skills including file management and case management.
- Experience in grant writing and reporting
- Experience in program development and delivery
- Proven skills in relationship development, fostering a team and effective coaching
- A valid Saskatchewan driver’s license

Pay: $65,130.00-$68,386.50 per year
