**The Role**:
The HR Manager has the responsibility of providing professional expertise in all areas of human resources management and labour relations. Through sound management practices, this position will ensure the everyday administration of salaried and hourly administration and labour/employee relations. This position also plays an active role in the development, implementation, and communication of sound business plans. Ensure that the plant has and maintains Human Resources systems that support the short and long-term business objectives of the plant and achieve a “World Class” Human Resources organization for the facility

**What you’ll be working on**:

- Responsible for day-to-day plant employee relations. Ensure positive and effective employee relations in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and company philosophies
- Provide guidance and counseling to management when direction, guidance, or HR related involvement is required
- Responsible for the administration of the grievance process
- Participate in the mediation and arbitration process when necessary
- Manage the plants attendance program and drive continuous improvement
- Developing and maintaining relationships with local union leadership stakeholders
- Participate in contract negotiations
- Conducting and reviewing workplace investigations
- Oversee development and execution of training / development plans
- Facilitate the negotiation strategy of the collective agreement
- Ensure facility is compliant with legislation
- Overseeing the Return to Work and Accommodation process
- Encourage and institutionalize equal employment opportunity and work force diversity.
- Assure HR professionals are developed and maintain a high level of training in all appropriate skills

Qualifications:
**Who’s a good fit for the team**:

- Degree in Human Resources or other business-related course of study.
- 3-5 years of H.R. Manager experience
- 3-5 years working in a Unionized Manufacturing environment is required
- Ability to negotiate effectively
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Highly motivated
