We are looking for a Payroll and HR Administrator with 3-5 years’ experience processing payroll and HR administration tasks to join our team The Incumbent will be knowledgeable in local, provincial, and federal regulations and legislation for Payroll and HR. This role will report directly to the Director, Human Resources and Financial Controller.

**Responsibilities**:

- Administer bi-weekly payroll for all hourly and salaried employees
- Prepare, calculate, remit, and reconcile all payroll source deductions, WSIB, CPP, EI, Income Tax, LTD and EHT.
- Track vacation time, input exceptions & process rate increases,
- Process ROE’s with Service Canada and distribution of T4s
- Conduct quarterly audits of payroll records.
- Ensuring compliance with federal and local tax regulations by accurately calculating and withholding income taxes, and any other applicable.
- Participating in external audits of payroll records to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Manage benefit administration including enrollments, changes, terminations, and statement reconciliation.
- Maintain employee data and associated changes for payroll and other uses.
- Assist with preparing and maintaining employee contracts, onboarding packages, policy administration.
- Enroll & terminate employees in applicable systems and maintain records accordingly.
- Address and resolve employee inquiries and complaints relating to the payroll system.
- Collaborate with Director HR on employee relations matters
- Develop relationship with outsourced payroll and HR service providers.
- Assist with recruitment process including, posting jobs, screening, scheduling interviews, performing reference checks, drafting offer and arranging background checks.
- Maintain the integrity, accuracy and confidentiality of employee files and HRIS data
- Identifying opportunities for process improvements in payroll processing and implementing solutions to increase efficiency and accuracy
- Other administrative duties as assigned by HR/ Controller

**Requirements and Qualifications**:

- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required
- CHRP designation or working towards preferred
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience administering payroll and supporting HR function for a medium-sized business.
- Experience with benefit administration.
- Knowledge of applicable legislation (ESA, Human Rights, WSIB)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
