The Centre for Medieval Studies at the University of Toronto sponsors several major research projects and is home to large number of scholars, to various publication series, and to medieval drama and music groups. We are an open place of collaboration where people can come to explore and study topics and issues from multiple disciplines. The Graduate Administrator will report to the Manager, Centre for Medieval Studies, and is responsible for providing a high level of administrative support to the graduate office and in the administration of the Centre’s graduate programs, in accordance with the rules and regulations of the School of Graduate Studies and Faculty of Arts and Science. Major functions of this role include: providing student services support; providing program support to courses, admissions, grades, coordinating exams, coordinating TAships, maintaining records, and providing administrative support.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Advising students on academic and/or financial matters by providing options and consequences incorporating personal circumstances impacting academic success and an understanding of an individual's background
- Advising on the appropriateness, precedents and process for petitions and appeals, and suggesting alternative course of action as necessary
- Analyzing and making recommendations on award funding allocation; tracking and monitoring the distribution of awards
- Providing detailed information on program and/or course eligibility requirements, procedures, policies and deadlines; distributing program and course materials; liaising withthe School of Graduate Studies
- Monitoring student degree progress; collecting and submitting grades; updating and maintaining records
- Advising departmental contacts on the interpretation of examination policies, rules, and regulations; liaising with the Chairs of Latin, Languages and FOEs Committees for exams delivered online
- Interpreting guidelines to determine the eligibility of graduate students for teaching assistantships; collaborating with others on events for incoming/current students as well as workshops and other events for CUPE 3902, Unit 1 employees (TAs and Cis)

**Essential Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Minimum four years of recent and relevant experience providing senior program administration for a graduate program, and providing advising and front-line service for current and prospective graduate students and faculty, preferably in a University environment
- Demonstrated experience providing academic and financial advising to current and prospective students
- Experience providing program administration including administering SGS registrations, fee deferrals, leaves of absence and withdrawls, course enrolment, timetabling, course evaluations, grades, examinations and final oral examinations, and petitions.
- Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining records and files, developing and maintaining statistical data and reporting and providing administrate support to committees.
- Experience working with and interpreting University of Toronto, School of Graduate Studies, and Faculty of Arts and Science guidelines and procedures
- Experience with organizing student events and workshops. Experience conducting presentations to a wide range of audiences.
- Demonstrated advanced skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power-point, OneDrive, Teams) and SharePoint.
- Advanced skills in ROSI, ROSI Express, Quercus, eMarks, or similar student systems to enter data, retrieve information, and generate reports
