The Department of Pediatrics, Women’s and Children’s Health Program, Unity Health Toronto is currently looking for a Research Coordinator I. This hired individual will be primarily working on co-designing a cohort study with migrant families that utilizes community-based participatory methods and human centered design. The selected applicant’s research activities will include community engagement, participant recruitment, data collection, summarizing and/or analyzing data. Other tasks may include assisting in study administration, adhering to research protocol and working with the principal investigator and community partners to carry out various aspects of the study.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Assisting in setting project goals
- General office duties e.g. filing, faxing, mailings, courier services, photocopying, etc.
- Ordering supplies and maintaining inventory for study
- Collection, transcription and entry of study related data
- Limited processing of data and conducting literature searches
- Act as the primary liaison between the study team and community advisory board members and community partners
- Present research related information, including written study reports when necessary
- Represent St. Michael’s Hospital at protocol development and study initiation meetings
- Designing recruitment and participant materials
- Coordinating ongoing or new activities pertaining to study (e.g., meetings with teams community councils, community partners and/or research participants)
- Assisting Investigators in the initiation of new research
- Interacting with sponsoring agencies regarding requests for clarifications of data and/or assisting monitors during site visits
- Collecting data in person and via phone calls, conducting interviews, and coding transcripts (e.g., qualitative research)
- Screening data for study inclusion according to protocol
- Supporting practicum students and/or research assistants for participant recruitment, data collection and entry

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in health science field, however Master preferred
- Excellent attention to detail and proven ability to learn new skills.
- At least 1 year of experience working in a clinic research setting; experience with community engagement or immigrant/refugee populations is an asset
- Superior organizational skills to manage multiple projects in a timely manner and flexibility to adapt to changing workload
- Professionalism and self-motivation
- Good inter-personal and program time/detail management skills
- Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of qualitative research methodologies, community based participatory action research, data collection and entry, GCP (HPB, FDA) regulation and guidelines, and health record analysis.
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft office (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Internet (e.g., literature searching), referencing tools (e.g., Endnote, Zotero) database and statistical softwares (e.g., SPSS, DeDoose,).
