An exciting temporary part-time (12-month) opportunity as a Research Coordinator I exists in the Rheumatology Research Team at Women's College Hospital. Under the direction of the Rheumatology Research Director, the Research Coordinator I will facilitate the coordination of the University of Toronto Rheumatology Network. This is a new, university-wide divisional network that brings together scientists, clinicians, patients, and other stakeholders to promote high-quality, patient-centered research to improve care of patients with rheumatic diseases. The mission of the network is to advance innovative and collaborative research in the University of Toronto Division of Rheumatology through educational activities, as well as creation of a hub to facilitate collaborations and a network to build capacity to conduct research.
**Summary of Duties, but not limited to**:
- Assists with enhancing relationships among existing stakeholders; help with the development of new partnerships
- Monitors the progress and deadlines of research activities, develops and maintains records of research activities, and establishes and maintains operating policies and procedures for future research network activities including the process to support the initiation, development and implementation of new collaborative research projects.
- Prepares periodic and ad hoc reports, as required by investigators, administrators, funding agencies, and/or regulatory bodies
- Acts as the primary administrative point of contact for internal research staff, research network members and as the primary operational liaison for internal and external collaborators working with the network (e.g. other research organizations, funding agencies, regulating bodies, etc.)
- Plans, implements and coordinates all aspects of data collection, management & sharing across academic institutions as they relate to research activities of the network as per the organization’s policy and ICH/GCP guidelines
- Implements quality control process throughout the conduct of the study including ensuring the accuracy and integrity of standardized data collection from Electronic Medical Records (EMR - EPIC) across institutions.
- Communicates with sites to assist with the preparation and execution of contracts with various external agencies and institutions
- Collaborates with Investigator and/or team members to write and edit presentations, reports, budgets, proposals, publications, conference materials, and manuscripts.
- Assists with knowledge translation activities and maintain a website with updated information on the divisional research network activities, resources and faculty profiles
- Plans, coordinates and provides administrative support for the network’s monthly meetings, research educational activities for faculty and trainees including the Bombardier Rounds, and ad hoc activities (e.g. workshops).
- Provide financial administrative support including reporting, invoicing, reconciling revenue expense reports, budget projections, and reporting on a quarterly and annual basis
- May perform aspects of research protocol, as required, in accordance with specified program objectives. (e.g. participant recruitment, data collection, bio specimen collection, preparing data for analyses, etc.)

**Qualifications**:
- Undergraduate degree in healthcare related field, Master’s degree, an asset
- Minimum three (3) years of progressive experience working in a research environment and/or academic hospital
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Work efficiently under pressure with strong judgement with excellent problem-solving skills and decision-making skills
