An exciting opportunity for a Research Coordinator I exists with the women’s health, trans health, and gender-based violence research program of Dr.Janice Du Mont. This remote work role will primarily focus on coordinating the activities of a national research program focused on improving supports for trans and gender diverse survivors of gender-based violence.
Summary of Duties:
- Assist with enhancing relationships among existing stakeholders; help with the development of new partnerships among trans and gender diverse-led and trans and gender diverse-positive organizations across Canada
- Monitor the progress and deadlines of research activities, develop and maintain records
- Coordinate the day-to-day activities of staff engaged in research/clinical protocol
- Prepare periodic and ad hoc reports
- Act as the primary administrative point of contact for internal research staff
- Liaise and collaborate with other research organizations, funding agencies, regulating bodies
- Plan, implement and coordinate all aspects of data collection and source documentation
- Plan and coordinate regular meetings for working groups, steering committees, and advisory boards

Qualifications/Skills:
- Undergraduate degree in healthcare or social sciences related field, Master’s degree preferred
- Member of and/or previous experience working with 2SLGBTQI+ communities
- Knowledge of and/or experience working in the field of gender-based violence
- Proficiency reading, writing, and speaking in French an asset
- Minimum three years of progressive experience working in a research environment and/or academic hospital
- Knowledge of planning and management processes for research (e.g., experience with the ethics approval process, federal granting agency guidelines, etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and lead a wide variety of people at different levels
- Computer competency including familiarity with databases (REDCap, MS Access), EndNote, MS Word, MS Excel, web-editing (Squarespace) and MS Publisher
- Demonstrated record of good performance and acceptable attendance will be considered as part of the selection criteria
- Professional behaviour and communication that meets the standards of the professional regulatory college or association, as applicable, and the standards of Women’s College Hospital
- This position plays a critical role in acting as an advocate for safety and will demonstrate principles, practices and processes that will optimize a safe environment for all
