Created in 2015 to align, lighten and modernize infrastructure, the Technology & Infrastructure (T & I) team is the backbone and the future forward arm of CBC/Radio-Canada. This is a hybrid position with a mix of in-office and remote work. Work arrangements will be discussed with hiring managers per departmental guidelines.
Your role
Your judgment, knowledge, experience and skills will help you achieve the following:
- Manage priorities throughout the project management cycle on an annual basis.
- Set priorities for in-house production teams in conjunction with the leadership team.
- Document upcoming milestones for specific projects, as well as overall project progress, and brief the leadership team on a regular basis.
- Work with experts to identify potential improvements and follow up as needed.
- Create dashboards, reports and presentation documents.
- Co-ordinate and communicate information, tasks and status updates to various stakeholders within the organization.
- Co-ordinate and lead task planning meetings.
- Evaluate, document and report on access permissions.
- Identify alarms used for infrastructure monitoring and associated processes.
- Develop and manage escalation contact lists and escalation protocols.
- Track and document activities and statuses related to after-action reviews, contingency plans, disaster recovery plans and major planned work. Report on progress; identify bottlenecks; and determine lessons learned, next steps, and roles and responsibilities.
What you bring:
- University degree or college diploma in computer science or equivalent.
- Three to five years’ relevant experience.
- Solid command of the principles surrounding IT environments and related concepts.
- High level of comfort developing project management business processes.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement concepts.
- General knowledge of media production support environments a definite asset.
- Experience working for a media production or technical maintenance company a definite asset.
- Ability to function collaboratively and effectively across several departments.
- Ability to design and develop innovative solutions and document technical specifications with an eye to simplicity and reliability.
- Ability to collaborate with other business areas in order to align all aspects of infrastructure and services with business requirements.
- Strong ability to effectively lead and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Strong organization skills with great attention to detail.
- Ability to work with internal communication interfaces and apps, including but not limited to Google, SAP, Jira and VimBiz.
- Bilingualism (proficiency in both spoken and written English and French).
