**The Position**

We seek a confident and ambitious **Education Coordinator**, who plays a key role in inspiring and engaging students throughout Saskatchewan for Global Citizenship Education (GCE). You will work with educators, educational institutions, community-based organizations, partners, and the public, to lead the delivery of global education in this province.

This job description outlines the general areas of responsibility and ongoing tasks associated with this position. Specific tasks and priorities may be assigned or modified by management through program and work planning.

**Duties - Education Sector Programming**:

- Recruit and support a network of teachers engaged in GCE in Saskatchewan;
- Coordinate GCE professional development opportunities for current and pre-service teachers;
- Promote the use of SCIC’s modules and other appropriate teaching resources;
- Maintain good relationships with the Ministry of Education, Provincial school boards, schools;
- Faculties of Education at the University of Regina and University of Saskatchewan, and other teacher-education institutions to sustain a supported and successful GCE program;
- Foster new partnerships to enable expanded reach of GCE in Saskatchewan;
- Lead the Insight Project, a 360° video cylinder installation touring schools and libraries across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba (book venues, communicate with vendor, deliver educational workshops, and other related duties);
- Ensure that up-to-date GCE lessons are easily accessible on SCIC’s website;
- Coordinate classroom-based, North-South Knowledge Exchange Program;
- Support ICN partner education initiatives;
- Lead Educator Reading Circles, a reading group for educators;
- Ensure SCIC’s development principles, values, and crosscutting themes are integrated into the Councils’ education activities.

**Other Duties**
- Ensure appropriate quantitative and qualitative evaluation data is collected on all educational programs and events;
- Work within budget and deliverable guidelines as outlined by funding agreements and as directed by the Executive Director;
- Participate in staff meetings and program planning as required;
- Complete regular work planning and reports as required;
- Other tasks as assigned by the Executive Director

**Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements**
- Completion of a Bachelor degree (B. Ed is an asset), plus 2-3 years of relevant community programming, teaching experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
- Familiarity with the Saskatchewan curriculum and education system;
- Excellent knowledge of Critical Theory and Global Citizenship is an asset;
- Fluency in both English and French is considered an asset;
- Strong written and oral communications skills;
- Experience with lesson planning, workshop design, and facilitation;
- Excellent computer skills (with proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook etc.);
- Experience in project planning, monitoring, and evaluation including an understanding of Results Based Management (RBM) is considered an asset;
- Ability to be flexible and to work in relatively unstructured situations;
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision with multiple deadlines;
- Experience or proven interest in international cooperation, non-profit, humanitarian and/or community development sector(s);
- Ability to work effectively and cooperatively as a member of a team.
