**Reporting Relationship**:The Employment Coordinator reports directly to the Senior Manager of Employment and Program Development

**Education, Experience and Skill Requirements**:
**Education**: Post-secondary certificate, degree, or diploma in a relevant field (e.g. career or employment development, vocational rehabilitation, social work, psychology, sociology, human services, counselling or human resources management). Career Development Practitioner Certificate an asset.

**Experience**:

- 2 years of experience as a career development practitioner or equivalent with a track record of exceeding expectations, conducting and interpreting client assessments, coaching and mentoring clients; working with individuals with complex barriers, connecting clients to employers based on mutual needs/benefits,
- Excellent facilitation skills, individually and in groups,
- Excellent problem solving skills,
- High degree of tact and diplomacy,
- Excellent interpersonal skills,
- Excellent customer service skills,
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written,
- Excellent time management skills.
- Experience in effectively and creatively
- Excellent documentation and report writing skills.

**Knowledge**:

- In depth knowledge of employment issues regarding persons with disabilities and individuals with complex barriers to employment,
- broad based knowledge of community resources and services including those relating to employment & job retention,
- Knowledge of the labour market, community resources, government programs including income support, job search techniques, career development and issues relating to unemployment,
- Relevant legislation including accessibility, human rights, employment standards, privacy,
- PATH policies and procedures

**Ability to**:

- provide support in a manner that is relationship building, facilitative, professional and competent,
- gather information to assess needs, identify barriers and facilitate support services to bring about positive outcomes,
- provide a range of assessments, pre-employment supports, job development support and guidance, workplace assessment assistance, workplace accommodations support, job coaching and job retention troubleshooting,
- document actions, write reports, maintain files
- meet targets and deadlines
- manage a challenging workload through prioritization and effective time management,
- proficiently use MS Office, Outlook and web browsers,
- represent PATH with a high level of personal integrity and professionalism,
- use designated databases (FedcapCARES & CaMS) proficiently
- provide training or facilitate groups
- work independently and in a team environment
- have access to reliable transportation.

**Essential Skills**: reading text, document use, writing, oral communication, working with others, problem solving, decision making, critical thinking, promoting and persuading, job task planning and organizing, finding information, computer use, continuous learning.

**Languages**: Speak English, Read English, Write English

**Description**
- Positively contribute to monthly individual and team Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Conduct assessments to understand and document clients’ employment-related strengths, needs, abilities, skills, and other relevant employment-related factors to support the development of an individualized Employment Action Plan to support their journey to securing long-term employment
- Assist clients with understanding the benefits of paid employment and how it will impact their income support
- Maintain regular contact to provide pre-employment assistance through vocational advice, job search training, skill development, work preparation and other activities outlined in their Employment Action Plan that support a client’s return to employment
- Support clients with awareness and navigation support, including accessing community resources for additional supports needed to improve their job readiness, including facilitating and following up on referrals as appropriate
- Continually surveying the local job market in order to identify and pursue suitable employment opportunities directly with employers on behalf of clients. This includes weekly cold calling and targeted marketing to potential employers
- Provide individualized job retention support to clients and employers by maintaining regular contact to identify when the client requires on-the-job support and guidance to successfully maintain their employment for 12 months
