**Job Description**:
What you’ll be doing
This position supports CIBC’s Direct Financial Services business as well its Direct Investing offering, Investor’s Edge. CIBC Investor’s Edge is CIBC’s self-directed brokerage offering. Clients are able to manage their own investments through the online brokerage platform or by calling in the contact centre. As a member of the IE team, the Product Manager will be responsible for assisting with the maintenance and strategic development of assigned product initiatives, including creating product objectives, managing and communicating the product vision and roadmap, writing business requirements, prioritizing requirements to achieve goals and objectives, incorporating feedback, and overseeing the end-to-end delivery of the product. In addition, you’ll conduct ongoing reviews of the platform and product being offered by direct competitor producing intel for senior members of Product team.
At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. To successfully perform the work, you’ll be on-site full-time. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.
How you’ll succeed- Strategy and Competitive Analysis - In conjunction with the Product, Marketing and Strategy teams, understand the strategic evolution for the online brokerage and onboarding platform by understanding what technologies and partners will be needed to make our offerings even better. You’ll conduct periodic reviews of competitors and the evolution of their online platforms as well as which vendors they have chosen to partner with for account opening, research, trading and account information. Assist in the development of product strategies to target defined client and prospect segment(s) and the build out of the product roadmap in support of same. Determine what product enhancements may be suitable for online platform- Relationship Management - Act as product owner and be the primary point of contact for Direct Investing with regard to the product. Work with and develop relationships with Marketing and Strategy teams, CIBC Retail Banking partners and other teams- Business Effectiveness - Through effective analysis of existing processes and procedures, determine and recommend implementation of opportunities for cost savings for the business through reduction in manual processes and the implementation of automated solutions. Proactively determine client pain points and recommend improvements to the client experience
Who You Are- You are an experienced financial professional with retail brokerage industry knowledge. You will bring minimum of 1-2 year(s) of experience working in the retail brokerage industry working with financial products. And minimum of 1-2 year(s) experience in Business Analyst or Business Systems Analysis capacity writing requirements for technology project(s). You will bring expertise in brokerage research offerings and familiarity with market data vendors and products. You have business acumen to develop business case, cost benefits, analyze data and reports with goal of developing potential opportunities. You most likely have completed the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and DFC (Derivatives Fundamental Course) (Nice to have), among others.- You are passionate about people.
