The Office of Equity and Anti-Racism (OEA) works across government with partners, communities, and public service employees, to help lead and support government's equity and anti-racism initiatives. In July 2024, our mandate was expanded to include both an internal and external focus.

About Our Opportunity
The Coordinator, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility is a developmental opportunity. You will be responsible for the coordination and administration of corporate EDIA programs, projects, and activities that require innovative approaches, and that have an impact on departments and the Nova Scotia Public Service at large.
Primary Accountabilities
You will provide a range of coordination and support activities, including but not limited to:
Supporting the team of EDIA Consultants in training, facilitation, and client consultation and case management activities
Coordinating corporate EDIA events such as the biennial public service diversity conference, and other panel discussions and learning opportunities
Preparing various departmental and corporate communications and announcements related to EDIA initiatives such as EDIA training and resources, initiatives with Employee Networks, committees, and other EDIA partners across government, and calendar observances.
Coordinating and preparing meeting documentation, minutes, and agendas
Preparing data reporting tools and compiling the data collection and analysis for various reports such as the annual Moving Toward Equity report, Employee Network Workplans, and corporate assessments and tracking.
Responsible for managing the budget and workplans of Employee Networks
Preparation of procurement processes and documents
Social Media Management
Administering the EDIA shared network folders
Researching such as jurisdictional or academic related to EDIA
Delivering required outcomes by working within established project plans
Coordinating and preparing project performance and workplan reports to assist management in their decision-making and with strategic and operational planning
Qualifications and Experience
**Leadership competencies required at this level of work are**: Analytical Thinking, Adaptability and Flexibility, Attention to Detail, Outcome Focus, Effective Interactive Communication, Teamwork and Collaboration, and Intercultural and Diversity Proficiency.
We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.
Equivalency
**Equivalencies include, but are not limited to**:
A minimum of 5 years of related work experience in coordination of equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility at this level or above.
Alternate education or training related to equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility comparable to that requested.

Working Conditions
Normal work week is 35 hours/week, 7 hours/day.
May be required to work overtime on occasion.
Majority of time is spent in a comfortable office setting with frequent opportunity to move about.
High concentration of visual demands for proof reading and entering data into a computer database, giving close attention to detail.
Pressures to meet deadlines with attention to accuracy.
