**About the role**

In this role, you will play a critical part in expanding our presence in both gaming and new markets in Canada. Collaborating closely with the broader sales team, including Partnerships and Account Management, you will be responsible for identifying and acquiring new merchants while also building strong relationships for account management to later build upon. You will leverage your expertise and a consultative approach to clearly explain the benefits and value of our payment solutions. This means being comfortable and confident discussing payments at all levels from product managers and heads of payments through to the C-level.To begin, your main priority will be that of an individual contributor, developing and executing a business development strategy. Afterwards, your duties will include recruiting and guiding a team of experienced business development professionals.

**What will you do?**
- Develop and execute a strategic business development plan to achieve company objectives and revenue targets
- Build a pipeline of merchants across Gaming, eCommerce, Remittance and Crypto with accurate information to drive proper forecasting
- Identify and evaluate new market opportunities and potential partnerships that align with Paramount Commerce's growth strategy
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including merchants, and industry partners. Identify key decision-makers, understand their needs, and work closely with the sales team to provide tailored solutions.
- Lead the end-to-end sales process, from prospecting to contract negotiation and deal closure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management and marketing, to ensure successful lead generation
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and competitive landscape, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement
- Establish, monitor and analyze sales performance metrics to identify areas of improvement and implement strategies for increased sales effectiveness
- Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing business development team
- Provide guidance, support, and motivation to ensure team members achieve individual and collective targets. Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.

**You will have**:

- 8+ years of proven experience in business development, strategic planning, and team leadership, preferably in payments, financial services, ecommerce or another related field.
- Demonstrated track record of successfully identifying, negotiating, and closing business deals.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills. Ability to analyze market trends, data, and insights to make informed decisions.
- Excellent customer-first mindset and commercial acumen, with the ability to nurture relationships and help them grow
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills; ability to comfortably engage in discussions and presentations with individuals at all levels, from product managers to C-level executives
- Experience in managing and mentoring a team of business development professionals.
- Proficiency in CRM software and business development tools.
