THE ROLE:
PETRONAS has an opportunity for a Team Lead, Drilling and Completions (D&C) Data Analytics, located in Calgary, AB. Reporting to the Manager, Drilling and Completions Engineering, the Team Lead will be responsible for leading the business in all aspects of data analytics in the D&C space and will be a key driver in supporting the integration of data analytics across functions, consistent with the corporate data analytics strategy.
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:

- Lead a team of data analytics professionals supporting the D&C function
- Identify opportunities with stakeholders focusing on creating value through data analytics and the broader organizational strategy
- Act as the primary D&C liaison across all functions in the organization in data analytics. Actively engage with various functions to prioritize efforts
- Champion the development and implementation of data analytics solutions focusing on how to integrate analytics with decision making processes
- Lead data governance initiatives and processes in the D&C space, streamlining integrated data sets and ensuring data is accurate, consistent and in the proper format for analysis
- Develop data analytics strategy and guidelines in D&C aligned with the overall organizational strategy

WHAT YOU BRING:

- A bachelor’s or technical degree, with a minimum of 7 years of experience in a technical role and 3 years of experience in data analytics role
- Drilling and/or completions technical experience is required and previous leadership experience is considered an asset
- Strong knowledge of data analytics and statistical techniques, such as machine learning, predictive modeling, and data visualization
- Experience with programming languages, such as Python and R, and data management and manipulation tools such as PowerBI, Spotfire, SQL, and Excel. Working knowledge of Wellview and EDR data sources (such as Pason or NOV WellData) considered an asset
- The ability to articulate the value of proposals in a clear and concise manner
- The ability to compile, organize and effectively manipulate large data sets to meet a common objective
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects at once
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment within cross functional teams and effectively engage others in support of projects and initiatives
