Precision Drilling Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineering Director to lead our engineering team in the oilfield drilling equipment industry.

This role offers a competitive salary of $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, and benefits such as medical, dental, prescription drug, life insurance, pension match, long-term disability coverage, and product discount programs.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and leading projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals, and directing the integration of technical activities. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing the engineering team, providing guidance, mentoring, and training to ensure the team's success and professional growth.
  • Reviewing and approving engineering designs in conjunction with the engineering staff.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including management, production, and quality assurance.
  • Directing, reviewing, approving, and implementing new designs, design changes, and process improvements.
  • Interpreting technical reports.
  • Providing technical support and guidance to resolve complex manufacturing issues, troubleshoot problems, and optimize production output.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing principles to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve overall operational performance.
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
  • Collaborating with suppliers and vendors to source and evaluate new technologies, materials, and equipment to improve manufacturing processes and reduce costs.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proficiency with Autodesk CAD and Inventor software is essential.
  • Experience with other 3D software, FEA, Ansys, and Safi is an asset.
  • Detailed understanding of mechanical engineering design, troubleshooting, and system engineering.
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
  • Ability to converse and collaborate with other departments spanning multi-disciplinary skill sets.
  • Maintain a high level of concentration and creativity, exacting detail, and analyzing technical information.
  • Proficiency in solving engineering problems using analytical techniques and engineering data.
