The Team Lead, Drilling will oversee a team responsible for drilling operations in the Kaybob Duvernay field of Alberta. This individual will coach their team to deliver detailed drilling programs and execute field operations safely and efficiently.

Main Responsibilities & Activities:
- Prepare drilling programs from AFE initiation to the execution of drilling operations- Research offset wells for learnings and to ensure continuous improvement from competitors and past drills- Interact extensively with internal and external stakeholders to generate the drilling programs that deliver wells safely, protect the environment, and come in on budget- Manage all personnel and services working on drilling projects and ensure the operations are conducted in a safe, professional, and cost-effective manner- Ensure complete adherence to all safety and regulatory requirements- Provide drilling engineering support to the Asset teams for evaluations- Take calls and provide ongoing technical support for field drilling supervisors- Implement new technologies to ensure continuous performance improvement- Review and approve drilling invoices and ensure tight cost control from field to actuals- Assist with the development of best drilling practices- Support the team and management in any other related activities as required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Minimum of 15 years of petroleum engineering / operations experience is required- Relevant leadership experience- Experience drilling high pressure horizontal shale wells- Managed pressure drilling experience- Extended reach drilling experience- A team player who is results oriented and enjoys contributing to the team goals- A genuine love for teaching and mentoring- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines- Proactive management of planning and execution to ensure safety, quality, schedules, and cost goals are achieved- Exceptional analytical, decision making, and problem-solving skills- Strong knowledge of all safety regulations and a proven track record of safety leadership- Expert knowledge of AER regulations and industry practices pertaining to drilling operations- Adept in performance optimization, technological innovation, and budget management- Excellent oral and written communication skills
