Technical Outside Sales Representative

A career opportunity exists for an individual with technical sales experience to fill the position of Technical Outside Sales Representative for DNOW’s Valve & Actuation (V&A) group, with a primary focus on growing market share and strengthening our customer relationships while providing partnership to our sales force and branch personnel.
- What will you bring?_
- A minimum of 5-years industry experience in technical and practical sales pertaining to valves and actuation, with a proven track record.
- An industry relative technical certificate or diploma considered an asset.
- Service and customer-focused, capable of working in a team oriented, solutions driven work environment.
- Dedicated and self-motivating individual with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Possess strong organizational and time management skills, while providing dependable and accurate work.
- Strong computer skill including capabilities in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Valid driver’s license required and an acceptable Driver’s Abstract.
- What will you do?_
- Consult with potential customers to understand their needs and present solutions.
- Meet customer’s requirements when promised in an effective and professional manner.
- Manage customer issues and service to corporate standards.
- Analyze market potential and build key business strategy and initiatives in collaboration with sales, marketing, and operations to maximize V&A sales opportunities.
- Execute our V&A sales strategy that ensures long term growth with key customers in the region.
- Cultivate key customer relationships throughout Western Canada and the development and implementation of strategic business and marketing plans for our core V&A products and services included within DNOW’s core offering.
- Travel required within Edmonton and surrounding area, and north eastern Alberta, including potential site visits and facility walkdowns.
- Provide customer and market specific intelligence to support internal business groups.
- Proactively offer technical advantages and differentiation to secure business opportunities in advance of commercial quotation requests or RFQ’s.
- Demonstrate competence and compliance with DNOW’s processes, procedures, safety regulations and system requirements.
- Provide valve and actuator product presentations and training.
