Calgary, Canada The University of Calgary Full time

**Description**

The San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA) asks academic institutions, funding agencies, and other organizations to re-think their approach to evaluating research, by recognizing that journal-based metrics alone do not accurately assess the quality and impact of research. DORA encourages a shift toward considering research on its own merits. This position reports to the Consultant, Research Assessment and is responsible for supporting the University of Calgary campus community with the development of new approaches and tools for research assessment and research impact assessment. This position will also focus on utilizing infrastructure and developing tools and resources to support the implementation of DORA and to help researchers capture and communicate the impact of their work. There are many initiatives already underway on campus related to research impact assessment and this position will help collate existing tools, resources and supports while also identifying and delivering further opportunity for capacity building in support of faculty members and their research assessment needs. The Specialist, Research Impact will facilitate collaborative project management delivery within cross-functional scenarios to deliver on the expectations of this positions portfolio.
