**POSITION SCOPE**:
We are actively seeking a phlebotomist, responsible for blood specimen procurement as assigned including results receipt and distribution. This position will also include responsibilities such as Pulmonary Function
Nurse Lead.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Assemble and prepare appropriate blood collection supplies, equipment and records;
- Perform phlebotomy, collecting specimens as requested by physician;
- Label specimens, ensuring collection and storage criteria are met;
- Collate and arrange transportation of specimens and requisitions to testing facility;
- Collate and distribute test results, as appropriate;
- Inventories, orders and restocks supplies as required.
- Greet and request required information from patients, explain the specimen collection process, and ensure patients have followed necessary test protocol prior to specimen collection.
- Perform phlebotomies, connect / disconnect Holter monitors, and perform ECG tracings.
- Maintain client relationships, including responding to inquiries and following up on requests.
- Complete data entry of required patient demographics, requisition information, and other information related to processing test results.
- Prepare specimens for transportation and testing.
- Perform PFTs while ensuring the protocols related to testing are followed.
- Perform audiometric testing as required.
- Execute drug testing as required.
- Provide high quality confidential administrative support to the Occupational Health team.
- Maintain complete and accurate filing system.
- Ensure daily billing is completed.
- Provide assistance in coordinating meetings, minute-taking, updating reports and maintenance of data
- Assist team members with special projects or educational sessions as required.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and clients by assisting them with prompt and professional service.
- Assist in data collection, data input, data analysis and report writing when required.
- Performs other duties as required.

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Graduate of approved Laboratory Assistant Program or equivalent and minimum 3 years phlebotomy experience;
- Must be able to work with mínimal supervision;
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills;
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job and attend work on a regular basis;
- Bilingualism (French and English) an asset;
- Ministry of Labour “Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps” training certificate is required;
