The Research and Evaluation Data Coordinator supervises CSO Health Records Analyst by reviewing workload assignments, and providing guidance and advice. The Coordinator works collaboratively with researchers, BCCA programs and other stakeholders to support the data requirements of those engaged in cancer control research, evaluation and surveillance. Working on multiple projects simultaneously, the Coordinator consults with requesters to identify data needs to meet proposed project objectives and determines and ensures privacy-compliant approaches to data provisioning. The Coordinator works with BCCA program leaders to further develop and maintain effective data access policies for secondary data use that govern BCCA data from across the cancer control continuum.

**What you’ll do**
- Supervise staff through methods such as reviewing workload assignments and adjusting schedules according to workload to ensure that staff levels meet operational requirements.
- Establish priorities and provides guidance and advice through methods such as facilitating resolution to workload issues and monitoring activities to ensure department standards are met.
- Recruit staff through methods such as identifying vacancies, processing required internal paperwork, interviewing applicants and making recommendations to the Manager for selection to maintain approved staff complement.
- Develop and administer testing tools for the selection of staff by performing duties such as defining required proficiencies, developing paper and computer based tests to assess identified proficiencies and administering and grading the tests. Monitors staff performance and completes regular performance appraisals. Identifies learning opportunities to promote staff performance.
- In cooperation with Surveillance and Outcomes Unit Managers and staff, identify short and long term unit projects. Schedule staff and resources to complete projects, monitor progress, prepare progress reports as required and brings unresolved issues forward to the appropriate Unit Manager.

**What you bring**

Qualifications:

- Completion of a recognized Health Information Management Program or Bachelor Program with eligibility for membership in the Canadian Health Information Management Association at the Certificate level.
- Five (5) years of recent related experience including two (2) years in a leadership role.

- Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities impacting indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.).
