**Position Title: Surgical Office Assistant (SOA)**
**Job Status: Full Time, Monday - Friday**
**Reports to: Administrative Billing Manager and Clinic Business Operations Manager**

**Your Role**:
**Responsibilities**:
- Managing the physician’s surgical schedules and templates.
- Booking all surgical procedures for patients including all aspects of the surgical process:
- Pre-Op Forms and Examination - Ensuring patients complete the pre-op requirements for surgery. Ensuring the surgical centre/hospital receives all required pre-op information in a timely and efficient manner.
- Booking of OR Slate - communication with surgical centre/hospital.
- Booking of post-op appointments
- Consistent, concise and clear communication with patients regarding all processes and timelines for all aspects of the surgical process.
- Managing the Surgical Waitlist for multiple physicians.
- Triaging and answering patients surgical inquires
- Ensuring physicians surgical slates are full.
- Managing the physicians clinic “on-call” schedule.
- Managing the residents rotation schedule in clinic.
- Assisting the Clinical Office Assistant (COA) with duties as needed
- Establishing cooperative relationships and liaising with patients, physicians and surgical centres/hospitals.
- Cleaning, sterilizing, packaging and autoclaving medical instruments.
- Assisting physicians when required.
- Coverage at the front desk if/when required.
- Completing all tasks as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
**Experience/Position Requirements**:
- Minimum 2 years of Surgical Slating experience required.
- Medical Office Assistant or Unit Clerk Certification Required. Previous work experience relevant to the field will be considered if no certification.
- Experience with PART and SWIM an asset.
- Knowledge of Women’s Health medical terminology.
- Experience using EChart and EHub would be an asset.
- Excellent and efficient computer, communication, and organization skills
- Experience with Accuro is required.
- Must be able to work effectively and productively both independently and as part of the Heartland team
- Ability to multi-task as needed.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
