As we move through a period of exciting and challenging organizational change, Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) has an immediate opening for an Accounting Administrator to join the Finance team.

Under the authority of the _Professional Engineers Act_, PEO licenses and governs over 91,500 licence and certificate holders and regulates the practice of professional engineering in Ontario. PEO's mission is to regulate and advance the practice of engineering to protect the public interest. With a talented, multi-disciplinary staff of over 100, PEO's vision is to be a trusted leader in professional self-regulation.

**Position Summary**

The position is primarily responsible for coordinating activities of PEO’s Practice Evaluation and Knowledge (PEAK) program as well as promoting and communicating about the program and other professional development initiatives with stakeholders.

**Responsibilities**

**General Responsibilities**
- Serves as the initial point of contact for the program.
- Coordinates PEO activities associated with the operation and evolution of the program.
- Assists management with various activities associated with the operation and evolution of the PEAK program and other professional development initiatives.
- Prepares reports and statistics on program activities and practitioner compliance with the program.
- Maintains and operates a database of stakeholders’ queries and comments regarding the program.
- Coordinates the resolution of operational issues that arise.
- Assists stakeholders seeking information about the program, including practitioners, engineering firms, associations, local PEO chapters, and other individuals and groups.
- Assists with the preparing, arranging and delivery of presentations on the program to inform stakeholders, particularly practitioners, about program requirements.
- Assists with PEO marketing initiatives to communicate key details about the professional development programs to stakeholders, particularly practitioners, including the development, distribution and evolution of communications across various media.
- Coordinates PEO activities with vendors and partners (internal and external) in the development and operation of the program.
- Keeps abreast of issues relevant to engineering practice including emerging areas, as well as developments in the areas of professional development programs, incorporating genuine accessibility and inclusion into such programs and delivery of learning materials.
- Performs other tasks as assigned and associated with the operation and evolution of the PEAK program.

**Decision Making, Judgment and Problem Solving**
- Makes effective and informed decisions within scope of responsibility on development and delivery of various aspects of the program.
- Exercises sound judgment in ongoing development of the program and its impact/implications on the professional engineering profession.
- Maintains professional and positive attitude interacting with all stakeholders which includes the public as well as PEO staff and practitioners.

**Communications and Relationship Building**

Internal
- Develops and maintains strong relationships with Manager, Professional Development Initiatives as well as other staff in the Legislation and Policy Division.
- Develops and maintains relationships with other PEO staff and select volunteers as required.

External
- Develops and manages relationships with PEO practitioners, their employers, vendors and partners and other stakeholders as well as the public.

**Leadership, Coaching and Management**

Support to Peers and Co-workers
- Collaborates with various PEO departments as required.
- Represents PEO appropriately, internally and externally.

**Working Conditions**
- Minimal exposure to unavoidable hazardous or disagreeable environmental conditions associated with a position within an office environment.
- Sitting for extended periods of time.
- Some travel (about 15%) by air, rail and automobile, and occasional evening/weekend work may be required.
- Valid driver’s licence.

**Specialized Skills and Knowledge**

Knowledge of:

- Knowledge of and experience with planning, developing and implementing professional development programs and training initiatives.
- Experience in facilitating project teams that include multiple stakeholders to deliver a product, program, or service.
- Experience delivering services to a diverse client base.
- Project management and coordination experience.

- Experience in contract administration is an asset.
