The Information Technology Department is currently seeking a dedicated to actively engage and support mission-critical communication technologies like P25 LMR and data communications over LTE. In this pivotal role, your precision and expertise are essential to ensuring the Halton Regional Police Service and its regional partners maintain and exceed public safety communication standards.

**About the Role - How you will Contribute to the Service**:
Responsible for the management and administration of the Motorola P25 Public Safety Integrated Voice, LTE Data Network, and Regional Microwave Point to Point Radio network for Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS)
- **Role Responsibilities Include**:_
- Develops and manage Radio Code Plugs.
- Troubleshoots and repairs mobile radios, portable radios and base stations.
- Works with Fleet Management to coordinate inventory for new vehicles, and replacement vehicles. Ensures all vehicles are updated and added correctly to the CAD system. Assists Communications Supervisor with day-to-day issues arising with the P25 and NICE.
- Directly supports Radio System Partners.
- Supervises and/or performs annual preventative maintenance and upgrades on networks, End User Equipment, Test and Alignment and Power Test.
- Ensures that maintenance contracts with Vendors are up-to-date. Accompanies vendors and site tenants to remote tower locations.
- Works with Purchasing and end users to develop Request for Quotations (RFQ’s). Evaluates vendor responses and makes recommendations.
- Provides billing information to Finance for billing to radio system partners.
- Works with Legal to establish and maintain lease agreements with tenants.
- Develops and maintains databases to supply relevant documentation associated with the operation of the systems.
- Manages radio projects, as assigned, for user requests for extra services.
- Conducts monthly tower site inspections and oversees maintenance and operation of Remote Tower Site Locations.
- Provides reports to management, as required, regarding the status, operation, maintenance and enhancement requirements of the system.
- Liaises with Industry Canada to ensure all licences are current, fees are paid and HRPS is compliant with all regulations.
- On Call Rotation with Mobile Technology Technicians to assist with Data and Radio issues after hours.
- Other related duties as assigned.
**What you’ll Bring to the Role**:
**Education, Certifications and Qualifications**:Minimum 2 years community diploma in computer science, computer systems or related area
**Previous Experience, Knowledge and Skills**:Minimum 2 years of related experience in the field of radio and mobile technologies.
**Desirable Qualifications**:
- Minimum 5 years of Public Safety Experience
- Experience in managing, configuring, testing and troubleshoot network infrastructure and devices, which include Routers/Switches
- Knowledge of regulatory and technical aspects of 700/800mhz trunked radio systems, TDMA, FDMA, GPS and Radio Frequency (RF)
- Experience with Computer Aided Dispatch Systems for Public Safety
