**Job Summary**

**A Brief Overview**
Reporting to the Director, Communications and Events, the Events Officer, will collaborate closely with clients to conceive, execute, and assess a diverse range of events customized for various audiences, including alumni, donors, community members, and volunteers. These events encompass a broad spectrum, from celebrating alumni awards and announcing gifts to organizing gatherings featuring alumni and donors alongside the Principal, as well as educational forums. Event formats vary widely, spanning large formal black-tie affairs, stand-up receptions, to the spirited ""tams welcome"" events like Homecoming, and may take place on and off campus, across the country, and occasionally internationally.

This position is fully remote within Ontario.

**What you will do**

Provides administration support for key and/or high-profile events including venue rental, food/beverage, coordinating set up and tear down details, event schedule, and event messaging.

Coordinates and monitors event budgets.Develops, designs, and updates communications and marketing material for events.Prepares reports regarding event experience and participation.Updates and maintains websites and social media pages.
- Provides guidance and coordinates workflow of casuals, volunteers, and/or student staff.
- Other duties as required in support of the department and/or unit.

**Required Education**
- Three-year Community College Diploma or Three-Year Bachelor Degree, or equivalent.
- in event planning preferred.

**Required Experience**
- More than 2 years and up to and including 3 years of experience.
- Experience planning, coordinating and/or managing events or promotions considered an asset.

**Required Licenses and Certifications** Valid Passport with no travel restrictions is required.
- G Driver's Licence required.

Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience.

**Job Knowledge and Requirements**

- Identify new problems and seek information and input to fully understand the cause of problems.
- Identify opportunities to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of work processes.
- Draw logical conclusions and provides opinions and recommendations.
- Research equity, diversity, accessibility and inclusion resources and best practices relevant to the job and unit operations in order to inform evidence-based planning.
