Are you passionate about guiding students on their journey to success? Join our team at the Centre for Experiential & Service Learning (CESL) as an **Experiential Learning Coordinator **and play a pivotal role in empowering students to reach their academic, personal, and professional goals.
As an Experiential Learning Coordinator, you’ll be a key member of the CESL team, providing comprehensive support and guidance to students. Your responsibilities will include leading student experiential guidance, facilitating workshops and events, assisting with program promotion, and collaborating with campus-wide initiatives. Additionally, you’ll support students in completing experiential badges and verifying their experiences on UR Path.
**What You’ll Do**:
- **Program Advising**: Provide guidance and support to students, assisting them in navigating experiential learning opportunities and developing personalized action plans to achieve their goals.
- **Career Development Support**: Conduct resume reviews, mock interviews, and career workshops to enhance students’ professional skills and readiness for the workforce.
- **Experiential Learning Recognition**: Review and award students with experiential learning recognition within badges on UR Path and through the MyCreds portal.
- **Holistic Student Support**: Offer holistic advising on various topics including academic transition, career exploration, financial information, and healthy living, ensuring students have access to comprehensive support services.
- **Student Engagement**: Plan and execute student engagement and skill development curriculum, services, and events tailored to meet the diverse needs of students.
- **Collaborative Relationships**: Establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with university staff members, providing leadership in student development and retention initiatives.

Position Requirements
**What You’ll Bring to the Position**:
- Bachelor’s degree; and
- Minimum of one year related experience.
**Skills That Will Ensure Your Success in this Role**:
- Understanding and appreciation for diverse backgrounds and experiences;
- Knowledge of experiential and service learning theories and the value of volunteering in the community;
- Demonstrated ability to create and implement workshops and programming designed to develop students’ skills;
- Extensive knowledge regarding the connection between career services and student engagement. Must be intimately familiar with all of the career workshops offered on campus, benefits of attending these workshops, and the ability to deliver these workshops. Must know of other on-campus support units and make student referrals. Must be able to provide specific examples to students on how to get involved on campus, how to build leadership skills, and how to gain career-related experience while going to school;
- Thorough understanding of best practices for retention and student employability; and
- Must have a working knowledge of Caspur, Banner, and Microsoft Office. Familiarity with student engagement tracking software is an asset.
Physical Demands
Lifting is required for setting up promotional materials at events such as set up tables, pull-up banners and take-away materials such as brochures, prizes, snacks etc.
Standing during networking events or giving presentations.
Pay Grade APT 4 Salary Range $62,909 - $84,893 Annually Status Term Work Hours
8:15 am to 4:30 pm with occasional evenings and weekends, as required.
