**About the Role**:
The Acquisitions Coordinator plays a critical role in the procurement process for Brock University Library by overseeing the ordering, receiving, and invoicing of library materials for the James A. Gibson Library, the Map, Data & GIS Library and the Archives & Special Collections.
**The Acquisitions Coordinator will**:
- Supervise all acquisitions functions (monograph and serial, print and electronic) including ordering, receiving, and invoicing of all library materials;
- Develop and streamline procedures and workflow to ensure that materials are ordered, received, and paid for in a timely and accurate manner;
- Maintain financial records related to library acquisitions and monitors to ensure the accuracy of the Brock University Library Collections and Endowment accounts;
- Approve invoices, expense reports, and journal adjustments in the University financial system;
- Work with Librarians to monitor collections and endowment spending including an annual review of standing orders and subscriptions;
- Maintain the Request for Purchase list, Trials Master List, and annual list of major new purchases, subscriptions, and cancellations;
- Act as contact for library consortia to receive invoices, reconciliations, receipts, and statements;
- Coordinate and manage the acceptance and processing of book and journal donations to the library;
- Participate in major cancellation and weeding projects and maintain the Serials Master Weeding List;
- Act as a liaison with the library’s major vendors regarding approvals, standing orders, firm orders, accounts, and errors in invoices or receipt of material.
**Key Skills and Experience**:
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant field or the equivalent combination of education and experience;
- Relevant experience in a library setting and experience working in procurement for an academic, special or public library;
- Proven experience in financial management, ability to prepare and administer a complex budget for library acquisitions;
- Understanding of how libraries acquire, catalogue, and process materials;
- Technological skills, specifically with integrated library systems (Ex Libris’ Alma or similar);
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to interpret and explain complex library policies and procedures;
- Knowledge of library consortia (OCUL, CRKN), vendors, and publishers;
- Promotes and embodies inclusivity and respect within the workplace and community;
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills;
- Strong auditing, analytical, evaluation, and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated attention to detail;
- Excellent time management skills, ability to organize work and establish priorities, and demonstrated initiative.
**Preferred or Asset Skills**:
- Library Technical Diploma;
- Ex Libris Alma experience.
**Salary and Total Rewards**:
- Job Grade K, Salary Scale ($57,400-$98,400);
- Target Hiring Range: $57,400-$65,000;
