**Position Summary**: This position reports to the Chief Executive Officer and develops and guides the implementation of HR strategy, policies, and procedures across the company, ensuring that strategic priorities align with the company’s vision and values.

**Essential Functions**:
**Leadership**
- Direct the development and implementation of organization development policies and programs, employee orientation, training, workplace health and safety, among others.
- Prepare and distribute various reports on HR metrics to ensure GO Logistics' needs are met.
- Take a leadership role in developing a culture that enables employees to perform in accordance with the company’s objectives.
- Develop strong relationships with internal partners, including Finance, Risk Management, Human Resources, Business Development, and Marketing, to ensure support and alignment with your short and medium-term plans.

**Compliance**
- Ensure the company is compliant with all governmental legislative and industry regulations, including but not limited to Workplace Health & Safety, WSIB, Employment Standards, Human Rights Legislation, and Ministry of Transportation stipulations, to mitigate the company’s risk and exposure.
- Ensure each employee is aware of the company’s policies and procedures through the employee handbook, ADP portal, and other avenues to minimize exposure for both employees and the company.
- Advise Division Managers on the legal implications of HR issues related to discipline and employee grievances.

**Employee Relations**
- Review, formulate, and recommend HR policies and objectives that govern the relationship between employer and employee where necessary.
- Establish a positive employer-employee relationship that supports a high level of engagement, morale, and motivation.
- Coach managers on conflict resolution and progressive discipline for non-performing employees.

**Salary & Benefits**
- Research and create salary ranges for each group of job functions across the organization, building on what is already in place. Each range must reflect the skills, experience, and knowledge of the job and be designed to motivate employees.
- Continuously evaluate employee benefits plans within the marketplace and recommend a plan that is not only financially feasible but also gives the company a competitive edge in employee recruitment and retention.

**Performance Management**
- Design a performance management system for the organization focusing on employee development and organizational improvement.
- Review existing job descriptions with department managers to ensure clarity of purpose, duties, and responsibilities, and ensure there are measurable outcomes for each performance goal.
- Coach managers on how to manage the performance management system to create a positive and healthy environment.

**Labor Relationships**
- Take the lead in developing effective labor relationships, should the need arise, including negotiating and administering labor agreements.

**Succession Plan**
- Work with Division Vice Presidents/Directors to develop a succession plan for second-tier leaders for each key position across the organization.

**Recruitment**
- Ensure there is a process in place to source talent to meet the company's demands, especially during peak periods.
- Review and make changes to the onboarding system for new employees.

**Requirements**:

- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in employment law, performance management, ESA, health and safety and organization development.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and coaching skills.
- 3 years’ experience in Transportation or In-depth knowledge of the logistics industry preferred.
- CHRL/CHRP/CHRE designation or similar certification required.

**Working Conditions**:

- Some travel may be required.
- Ability to attend and conduct presentations.
- Required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
- Overtime as required.
- Carry light items, such as laptop, papers, books, small parts, and so on.
