As a Medical Office Assistant, you'll be an indispensable part of our healthcare team, ensuring our medical office runs seamlessly. - **Responsibilities**:_
- **Patient Reception and Support**: Warmly greet patients, assist with check-in and check-out, and maintain a professional and friendly demeanor. Handle phone calls, answer inquiries, and schedule appointments with precision.
- **Patient Records Management**: Ensure the accurate and confidential handling of patient medical records, keeping our filing systems organized and updating electronic medical records (EMR) promptly.
- **Health Card Verification**: Verify patients' Health cards, obtain necessary authorizations, and address patient questions and concerns.
- **Appointment Scheduling**: Efficiently coordinate and manage patient appointments, doing your best to accommodate their preferences and scheduling follow-up visits when needed.
- **Patients’ Visits**: Prepare patients for examinations, including vital checks like blood pressure, weight, height, and temperature, and record the details in electronic medical records.
- **Billing and Payments**: Process patient invoices and outstanding balances accurately, working closely with billing specialists to resolve issues and ensure timely payments.
- **Communication Liaison**: Keep the lines of communication open between medical staff, patients, and other healthcare providers to ensure a smooth flow of information.
- **Assistance with Medical Procedures**: Offer support to medical professionals during examinations and minor procedures if required.
- **Maintain Cleanliness and Organization**: Keep the reception area and office space neat, organized, and welcoming for patients and visitors.
- **Qualifications**:_
- High School Diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in medical assisting is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Medical Office Assistant or in a similar administrative role within a healthcare setting.
- Familiarity with Medical Terminology and EMR Systems to accurately manage patient records.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with patients, medical staff, and external parties.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, prioritize responsibilities, and maintain attention to detail.
- Customer Service Orientation: A warm and empathetic approach to patient care, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficient in using computers, electronic scheduling systems, and standard office software.
- Professionalism: Display a high level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality in handling sensitive patient information.
